PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This is an essential package for all nurse practitioner students and new NPs. This package includes important primary care topics including, barriers to vaccination; management and treatment of anxiety; treatment of c. diff and h. pylori; community-acquired pneumonia; pharmacologic management of dyslipidemia, pain, sleep disorders, headaches, obesity, thyroid disorders, depression, migraines, and liver disease; and management of hypertension and diabetes.

Wendy L. Wright, DNP, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN, FNAP
Family Nurse Practitioner and Owner; Wright & Associates Family Healthcare
Wendy received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2019 from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. She is a 1992 graduate of the Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts and completed a family nurse practitioner post-master’s program in 1995. She is an adult and family nurse practitioner and the owner of two, nurse practitioner owned and operated clinics within New Hampshire named: Wright & Associates Family Healthcare. Her family practices have won numerous awards, including Top Providers in New Hampshire 2018, Top 20 Fastest-Growing Family Business, and Top 20 Women-Owned Business in New Hampshire. In addition, she is the Owner of Partners in Healthcare Education, a medical education company. She is the Past President of NPACE and the Senior lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates.
She is the recipient of numerous awards and was chosen by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as the 1999 recipient of the New Hampshire State Excellence Award. In addition, she received the 2009 NH Nurse Practitioner of the Year and the 2014 Top 5 Women in New Hampshire Business Award. In 2005, she was inducted as a Fellow into the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; in October 2014, a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, and in March 2017, a Fellow into the National Academies of Practice.
She is the founder of the NH Chamber of Entrepreneurial Nurse Practitioners, an organization designed to assist nurse practitioners with independent practice issues. In addition to full-time clinical practice, she presents nationally to different audiences and has been a speaker at over 1000 conferences in 47 states. She is the nurse practitioner representative to the State of NH Immunization Advisory Board. She has been a medical media spokesperson for numerous companies and has appeared on radio, television, and in print magazines. Wendy is frequently consulted by malpractice attorneys around the area of clinical practice and has worked on more than 100 malpractice cases involving nurses and nurse practitioners.
Sally K. Miller, PhD, APRN, FAANP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC

Dr. Sally Miller has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for 29years. She is board certified as a family NP, Adult/Geriatric Acute and Primary NP, and Psych/Mental Health NP. Dr. Miller is a clinical professor with Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions. She maintains an active clinical practice with iCarePsychiatry. Sally has published over 30 research and clinical articles with emphasis on issues related to adult health and illness as well as obesity. She has been an active conference presenter and author in the NP community since 1996.
Angela Golden, DNP, FNP-C, FAANP

Dr. Angela Golden, is a current fellow and past president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her tenure as the president of the AANP gives her a unique and overarching perspective of the multifunctional role of the Nurse Practitioner. For the past 26 years, Angie has had her own practice—NP from Home, LLC—where she provides clinical services in a family practice and for the past 7 years a subspecialty obesity practice, NP Obesity Treatment Clinic.
Angie has a great deal of experience in leadership positions and clinical practice. She has authored peer-reviewed articles and book chapters covering a range of health topics including health policy. She has presented nationally and internationally with an emphasis on health policy, leadership, and various clinical topics.
Christine Kessler, MN, ANP, CNS, BC-ADM, CDTC, FAANP
Founder and Clinical Consultant; Metabolic Medicine Associates
Christine is an award-winning NP, national/international speaker, prolific author, and clinical consultant specializing in General Endocrinology, Obesity, Metabolic, and Genomic Medicine. In her more than 4 decades of advanced nursing practice, she’s held diverse roles in academia (Assistant Professor in undergraduate & graduate nursing), research, and clinical practice; the latter as a critical care clinical specialist and ACNP intensivist (20 years) and an endocrine specialist (23 years). During her 16 years as a Senior NP at the Department of Endocrinology & Metabolic Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, she established the first weight loss clinic at her military facility, within her Endocrine practice. Since then, Christine founded Metabolic Medicine Associates where she provides general endocrine services (in underserved locations) and weight-loss management, as well as endocrine consultation to healthcare providers nationally. Christine has received numerous top clinical practice and patient satisfaction awards, including the Fort Belvoir Hospital Department of Medicine’s Silver Ace award for being voted the top Medical Provider by her peers, and the rare Coin of Excellence personally awarded to her by the Surgeon General for having the highest patient satisfaction rating of all health care providers in the Army WORLDWIDE. Christine is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Jason Cross, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP
Jason is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at MCPHS University. He completed his PharmD at the University of Rhode Island, College of Pharmacy in 2001. In 2002, he completed a Pharmacy Residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Since 2002, he has been a full time faculty member at MCPHS University focusing on adult in-patient internal medicine, acute heart failure, and ambulatory care. Jason currently brings his advanced practice students to Baystate Medical Center for clinical rotations.
Theresa Mallick-Searle, MS, RN-BC, ANP-BC
Nurse Practioner; Standford Health Care
Theresa is an Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 27 years’ experience at Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, California. She received her graduate degree from University of California, San Francisco.
Theresa’s current clinical practice within the Division of Pain Medicine, focuses primarily on evaluation and treatment of individuals suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions in both the hospital and outpatient settings.
As part of her commitment to education and professional development, she lectures extensively on topics surrounding pain management both locally and regionally. She has authored and co-authored numerous articles, abstracts, and book chapters on topics pertaining to pain assessment and management.
Theresa holds board positions in multiple professional organizations. She is on the editorial advisory board of Practical Pain Management and contributes a quarterly article for the Advanced Practice Provider. Theresa is the past co-chair of the pain management special practice group at AANP, as well as the current co-chair of the APRN/PA special interest group at AAPM.
Amongst her numerous honors, the two that stand out as the most treasured were awarded by peer nomination, Nurse Practitioner of the Year (Pain Medicine) – Point of Care Network in 2019, 2021 & 2022, and Advanced Practice Provider of the Year – Stanford Health Care in 2015.
Christina Hanson, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner; South Denver Gastroenterology
Christina received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN where she graduated cum laude in 2001. In 2005, she returned to school to obtain her MSN after completing the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Regis University. She graduated with honors and was nominated for the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
Christina has been working at South Denver Gastroenterology since 2007 as a nurse practitioner, treating patients with both GI and liver disease and she is a sub investigator in the research department at SDGI. She is a course director and board of trustee for GHAPP and has had the opportunity to participate in educating other healthcare providers across the country as a national speaker. Christina enjoys running and traveling, and she loves spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters playing in the mountains of Colorado.
Eden M. Miller D.O. A.B.O.M-Diplomat
Dr. Eden Miller, an Osteopathic board-certified Family Practitioner, received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. Returning to the Northwest, she completed her residency in Family Practice at East Moreland Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Recently completing her certification in Obesity management, she is the founder of Diabetes Nation a nonprofit organization, and CEO of Diabetes and Obesity Care LLC where she practices with her husband Dr. Kevin Miller in Bend.
Dr. Miller has cultivated a special interest in diabetes, after contracting type-1 diabetes while in medical school. Out of that personal experience, her practice has extended into a subspecialty in diabetes care. An impassioned speaker, Dr. Miller has given over 1250 lectures in the field of Diabetes to health care providers and patients alike, on subjects such as Diabetes Management, CGM Technology, Insulin Pump Therapy, Obesity and Metabolism intervention, Clinical Research, and Healthcare Policy. Her adage for care is that she “only succeeds as a provider if she turns patients into experts on their own disease”.
Dr. Miller believes that a “physiologic patient individualized approach to diabetes intervention is crucial to success. She feels if our nation is to triumph over the ravages of diabetes, a collaborative effort; unhindered by fear of personal scrutiny, and barriers for effective treatment need to be removed”.
For her, Diabetes and Obesity Care provides the foundational model to impact the people that represent this disease and begin the process of restoring hope back to their lives.
Eric Wombwell, PharmD, BCIDP
Clinical Associate Professor; University of Missouri, Kansas City, School of Pharmacy
Dr. Eric Wombwell is a Board Certified Infectious Diseases Pharmacist and Clinical Professor for the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, School of Pharmacy. Eric completed his PharmD degree at the University of Missouri Kansas City, followed by an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. In his role as a professor at UMKC, Eric covers infectious diseases topics throughout the pharmacy curriculum and anti-infective pharmacology in the dentistry curriculum. Eric maintains a clinical appointment at Centerpoint Medical Center where he provides clinical support for inpatients with infectious diseases, precepts the pharmacy residency infectious diseases rotation, and supports antimicrobial stewardship efforts.
Eric is regularly published in pharmacy and infectious diseases research, and is frequently invited to deliver continuing education presentations locally and nationally to various health-professional audiences. He is recognized for excellence in teaching through various awards, including the “Missouri Pharmacist Association - UMKC Faculty Member of the Year”, and the “University of Missouri- Kansas City Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching”.
